Dr. Kathryn Berish

Dr. Berish is an emergency veterinarian most recently relocating from Savannah, Georgia, but originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She completed her fourth and final year of veterinary school at the University of Tennessee, where her clinical rotations sparked a strong interest in exotic animal medicine, zoological medicine, and urgent care. Following graduation, Dr. Berish completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Kansas State University, where she further developed a passion for urgent care, exotic and zoological medicine, and small animal surgery. She then pursued a small animal surgery internship with BluePearl in Savannah, Georgia, but ultimately found she missed the diverse and fast-paced nature of emergency medicine. Through Vida Vet’s supportive, community-based environment, Dr. Berish is excited to continue pursuing her career goal of practicing as an emergency and exotic animal clinician.

Outside of work, Dr. Berish enjoys going to the gym, reading, spending time at the beach, and relaxing with her cats, Tito and Martini. She is also an avid fish hobbyist and enjoys caring for and expanding her fish tanks at home.
