Frequently Asked Questions
Know before you go
For Pet Owners:
When should I seek emergency care for my pet?
If your pet is experiencing illness or injuries that require attention and your family veterinarian is unavailable, Vida Vet urgent care is here to address your pets’ needs.
What is an urgent care hospital?
When your pet needs care, yet is not quite an emergency, we are here for those in-between times when your pet can’t wait to see their primary care veterinarian. We aim to provide the immediate care your pet needs, while avoiding lengthy and costly ER visits.
Do you take pet insurance?
Yes, but pet insurance does differ from traditional human health insurance. With most insurance companies, the owner must pay for services up front and will be reimbursed by their pet insurance company after submission and approval of a claim.
Do you take walk-in appointments?
Yes, walk-in arrivals will be accepted up until 1 hour prior to closing time. However, we do encourage you to reserve an arrival time through our website. If you would like to be seen as a walk-in, please consider calling ahead in order for us to accommodate and be prepared for your visit.
Are you open on holidays?
No. At this time, we are closed on major holidays
Will my pet always get treated?
There are some cases when your pet may need more intensive care and, therefore, will need to be seen at an emergency/specialty facility. In most cases we will be able to initially stabilize your pet and run any additional diagnostics or tests that will assist in expediting their ER visit. We can also call and help coordinate your visit so that they can be prepared for when you arrive.
Do you offer overnight hospitalization?
At this time, we are unable to provide overnight hospitalization. Patients requiring hospitalization, will be transferred to an appropriate 24 hour care facility.
